About the speaker: Brian Bearden, owner of Upstream Marketing helps his clients to determine their target market and how to best reach them. Before starting his online marketing and web development career in 2001, he worked for a number of Fortune 500 companies handling marketing and sales initiatives.
His 20 years of experience with Fortune 500 companies have given him a unique perspective on business management and sales. Many of the tools and much of the marketing and sales development training available at that level can have profound benefits for small- and medium-sized businesses. Being the owner of Upstream Marketing gives him the opportunity to share his experience to the benefit of his clients and the community.
Brian and his team of designers and programmers work with startups to multinational companies. Upstream Marketing as the name implies specializes in working with industrial, oil and gas companies. With over 18 years’ experience with oil and gas companies, Upstream Marketing is a leader in industrial online marketing.
He wrote a book titled 52 Tips To Turn Your Website Into A Sales Machine which became an Amazon Best Seller. His goal behind the book was to help business owners understand the power of online marketing.

About the speaker: Crystal Spruill Carter is the Communications Specialist in Texas A&M University’s Office for Diversity. She brings to the role over nineteen years of experience in communications that began at Florida A&M University. Crystal’s responsibilities include leadership and creativity in writing, designing, managing, and executing the Office for Diversity communications and website. Crystal coordinates the Office for Diversity’s social media, branding of promotional materials, presentations, and special events. Prior to her role, she served as the communications specialist for the Turbomachinery Laboratory.
In addition to her expertise in marketing and communications, she brings experience working collaboratively with the community to her work in the Office for Diversity. Crystal is the former director of the Brazos Valley African American Museum in Bryan, TX, and a member of the 2019-2020 class of Leadership College Station ISD. She volunteers with Brazos Valley 4-H and Lincoln Recreation Center Boys and Girls Club where she received the Keeping the Dream Alive award for outstanding public service and contribution to youth development. Crystal is a member of the Brazos Valley Area Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and an ADVANCE Diversity Champion.
Crystal earned a bachelor’s and master’s degree in biological and agricultural engineering from North Carolina A&T State University and the University of Kentucky respectively. A master of Instructional design and technology degree from West Texas A&M University. She resides in College Station, Texas with her husband, Seaborn, and children, Ariel, Aaron, and Amaya. She looks forward to completing her doctoral degree in curriculum and instruction from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley in 2022.

She owns a local Sandler training office, Sander has over 200 offices worldwide and their expertise is in sales, sales management and leadership development training with a focus on reinforcement.
Kristine started her Sander business out of a desire to apply her experience in quota carrying sales and sales management positions with AT&T, Paychex and AchieveGlobal to help businesses here in Birmingham grow, and she wanted to have interesting professional work without hopping on airplane every week in a corporate sales position.
Kristine has won some awards over the years including AT&T Leader’s Council and Southern Region Gold Club and she’s also training certified with Achieve Global (now Miller Heiman Group). She also knows what it’s like to have a great year, then January rolls around and you wonder how you’re going to do it all again – if she’s been Sandler trained back then it would have been so different.
Kristine’s married to Alton Sizemore who’s also a partner in the Sandler business and mom to Mary Catherine and Daniel, they are her favorite people to spend time with.

From there, she moved up to a technical sales position for pumps, compressors, and pneumatic tools. When she wasn’t in the office selling; she was in the shop helping manufacturing with whatever was needed that day. Bekah joined the EP&E team in 2017 with a desire to grow in the industry. In her role with Empowering, she helps to maximize clients’ digital marketing initiatives and make the most out of their marketing goals throughout the year.

She has covered more than 150 industry events worldwide, and has been the keynote speaker at three national conferences. She is the author of three books on Modern Manufacturing and one book on Creative Technical Product Marketing.
Michelle firmly believes in living life by a compass and not a clock. Her home office is on Plash Island in Gulf Shores, Alabama, USA, but you won’t find her there very often. She travels wherever there is an interesting story to be told, which could be anywhere on the planet. Her previous adventures include a year-long journey sailing the world on a 43-foot sailboat with her two beloved beagles.
